The Millennium Green offers a gentle introduction to Redbrook’s riverside setting. Created for the millennium through local volunteer effort, it provides an open space on the Gloucestershire side of the Wye for informal recreation and village gatherings. Its trustees and volunteers maintain it for the community, so a visit is also a chance to appreciate a place cared for by the people who live here. Follow the valley at your own pace

Walking is one of the best ways to appreciate the contrast between the riverside and the wooded hills. For a more demanding option, Visit Monmouthshire publishes a Redbrook-to-Penallt circular route that includes sustained climbing and descending. Read the route description and map before deciding whether it suits your group; a walk that looks short on a map can still involve steep lanes or stiles. Redbrook Village Hall overlooks the Wye and remains a focus for local gatherings. Plan the journey as well as the walk

Redbrook is on the A466 between Monmouth and Chepstow. The village hall’s directions are a useful local reference when finding the centre of the village, while Traveline lets you plan public-transport journeys to the actual address and date you need. Check the return journey before setting out, particularly if a walk or event will finish later in the day. For driving, use the district council’s visitor and parking information alongside signs at the destination, and keep residential accesses clear.
